Born in Dayton, Ohio, Jessica Schaeffer began studying music at the age of 4 and began private harp lessons at age 10. She received her formal musical education attending world-renowned institutions including Interlochen Center for the Arts, aspen Music Festival and School, and Northwestern University where she earned a B.M. in Harp Performance. In May of 2010, Jessica received an M.M. and Certification in Dalcroze Eurhythmics from the Longy School of Music of Bard College.
An accomplished and versatile performer, Jessica’s engagements range from weddings and private events to collaborations with composers and pop musicians. She’s an experienced wedding musician and offers guidance to couples regarding musical organization for their ceremony and reception. Jessica’s ability to play an eclectic variety of music makes it easy to customize a performance to perfectly match the needs of each unique engagement. Her musical range includes classical, pop, jazz, Latin, Celtic, American standards, folk, spiritual and ethnic music. Jessica also maintains a studio where she teaches private harp lessons and welcomes students of all abilities and ages.
